being english!

ha! and so i've been here for almost 2 solid months! gosh time flies. now the question on whether will i be extending my assignment is still hanging in the air. photo uploads have slowed down tremendously due to the recent events, keeping me late in office whilst managing my team 10000miles away and in a different time zone.

been busy with other stuff since my last post.

1)cambridge with Siow peng, which was an excellent quaint town.

2) caught Les Miserables with SP too , for a cheap 30quid!

3) had chinese takeout at my house with Alicia,QKL and SP and....MAHJONG on my glass table! oh how i miss MJ!

4) Stockholm with Tree and Ad, and i bet it was a really spontaneous trip with tree confirming her trip just 2 days before departure! lots of shopping, and pure relaxing! it was a save-tree's-life-trip and save-my-life trip for me too!

5) Nice with cyn,bel and her friend. celebrated bel's bday too.B.E.A.U.T.I.F.UL. is the word. Monaco was equally fancinating. Strongly recommend Nice! Nice was Nice!

6) Met up with my good ole fyp mate willy and explored the pretty Nottinghill once again, sans the rowdy crowd since the last post on Notting Hill Carnival. Walked alot cos was on a mission to look out for Hideout, Bathing Ape, and Dover Street Market. all in the name of l.o.v.e

7) shopped the entire sunday, and after having to battle with the limited time cos the shops close at 5pm, i finally bought THE DRESS for the coming wedding at Devon! my FIRST english wedding! and..... i got my very first.... little hair pin! though it cost me 25quid..but i seriously fell in love with it! it's all about the blending in! honestly i just pray the weather's gonna be good! i am so so excited! *hops around* haha judy, dont roll your eyes. ;P

gosh, i am really dreading work tomorrow. till then. ta.

So.. Si Ning complained that I haven't been blogging. Nothing's up for me really other than getting my hands all over the mess left by Le*mans. Tons of work for us to do on our side. And I have been sick since last Tues, and full blown over the weekend. Now I am officially sick , and hence explain why I am home at this time.

Had a fun filled weekend and I so love it when SP arrived last Friday! She brought me my flats, pounds, gou qi, dried scallop and red dates!!! Just nice for my next cook out! hee.

Catch up

So i had a freaking hectic week at work. Kinda dreading work each day though working hours are better, but I am so stretched and maximised at work from the moment i step into office. No time for toilet, phone calls after phone calls, lunch at my desk for max 20 min, and work work work all day. The worst was last thursday, I had my lunch only at bloody 4pm, and it was only for a brief 15min. ^*&^&*^% now u know why i am not really enjoying work here. I can't wait to go home.

On a brighter note, I celebrated my birthday in London last Tues. Had drinks with a few colleagues which my boss regretfully took a rain check due to some work issues. And cos my baby instructed me to be home early cos he had some 'surprise' for me , I only had 1 glass of wine. As most people know about it through my Facebook, the surprise turned out that he had a mini party set up at his own home, with confetti and balloons, and a slice of strawberry shortcake from Cenele. Totally caught by surprise!

Birthday at work isnt really a very pleasant experience cos it's just all work and no play. Thought i could get out of office by 630, ended up getting some last minute queries at 630 itself. ^*&%*&^. Anyway at least I ended up with some nice dinner at Cha Cha Moon after a 45 min wait. But it was damn worth it. Oh and I foiled Dom's* surprise plan. He asked me to call him the moment i leave home, but Alicia called me at the same instant. I talked to her all the way till i got to office and forgot bout calling him. Turned out that he wanted to tell the flower delivery guy to set off to my office the same time as i do so that he can wait for me at the office entrance with the fresh flowers the first thing in the morning. So damn guilty. *oh Eunice! at this junction, i just realised your boyfriend is also called Dom!*

Had a post birthday dinner with Christine and YC, and her housemate Billy. Finally some home cooked food. Totally impressed by our princess Christine. HA. A true taste of home.

The rest of the week passed by really fast cos of the sheer amt of work I have. Thank God for the weekend, which was fabulous. Headed to Windsor, Bath and Stonehenge for a day trip with a local travel agent alone, met a nice American lady Nicole. Wonderful experience but still felt it's too lonely cos no one's there to take photos for you. Haha. Typical singaporeans.

Also, for the first time after 4 weeks, I partied, with Alicia, QKL, Cyn and their friends till....5am! ha! But it was fun! really great time. Cyn was too tired she slept over at my place. Haha. And we took the night bus. Woots.

Woke up feeling a little under the weather, tired and groggy, awoken by Shih Guan's phone call cos he just arrived London yesterday.. another fellow singaporean! We then proceeded to Lotus for good ol' dim sum again. THen i got an invitation from Chris for dinner. Yay! I feel so loved. ha. Billy cooked his tonic chicken soup, brocolli and his specialty chilli prawns with dark sauce. I was sooo stuffed after 2 bowls of chicken soup with mee sua. But it was a fabulous dinner!

I hate the winds here. Seriously getting more chilly. Hence more excuses to buy thicker clothing like....

Anyway, for my lil' cousins and family, this is what I've been up to. (Ningko, show pop the photos k?!)

Friday drinks with the boss and others. Afterwhich, Adrian and I headed for dinner at Wagamama's and i chose quite a lousy chicken ramen in spicy coconut soup, aka LAKSA. But still cant compare to Singapore's laksa..

Sat - I basically just nua-ed the entire day away sleeping, doing the laundry, cooking tom yum vege bee hoon soup.

Headed to Regent Street Festival. Pretty wholesome and lots of performances. Definitely tamer than Nottinghill and much more family friendly.

Oh oh, and last Monday, I went out for dinner with CCK, the dua-ster as he popped over for a short biz trip. Funny how we don't meet up at all in Sg for the past 1.5 yrs but yet we make a point to meet when we are both overseas. Ha. But it was a great dinner, catching up, exchanging management styles, and how to be a good manager etc. No doubt he is my mentor and coach in P*c.

Dreading

Argh life sucks now!

Work sucks this month end. Tons of issues, too much expectations from Singapore about my objectives, people leaving the firm, learning new stuff yet expected to do all my daily stuff in Singapore. No one else in Sg knows the work enough ,so in the end, all rely on me to resolve their issues. I feel like all the work is now resting upon my shoulders. Sigh. Somehow, i rather be back home. At least not so much is expected from me. =(

Now i got another crisis. My passport expires on the 30th April.Which means.. if i were to take any outbound flights, they need a minimum of 6 mths right and i am not sure if i can qualify. So last day to travel is 30th Oct. F(^Y*&^%^& Now only thing i need to find out what this statement means:

All passengers must present valid photo identification at check-in for all flights. The only acceptable forms of photo-ID on Ryanair flights are:

A valid passport (passport for travel outside the EEA must have six months validity beyond the date of entry).

So..lets see if i can do any travelling in Nov. ARGH!

On the bright side, SP is coming and stay with me from 13 Sep! YIPPIE!!! I miss my girlfriends! Then Ali, SP and me most prob gonna plan a weekend trip together! What else do I need from Singapore?!

Anyway latest plan now is that I should be back on the 25th Nov, depending on my stupid passport availability. If not, I will probably just head home on the 14th ,save the money for another holiday in Asia (HK?Japan?), and spend time with my precious baby. Anyway I am so sick of planning for holidays, cos not all my friends are available on those dates that I can. And sadly! Cyn is going back to Singapore in Oct for 1 full month!!! SOB! And i just got news that Candice cant pop over for a visit too in Oct! Bah, life sucks.

So anyway, apart from Nice in Oct with Cyn, Bruge on 20-21 Sep (hopefully, if not Dublin) , maybe Amsterdam/Stockholm with my colleague, on last week of Sep, i have no other plans! GOSH! i really should plan more stuff over the weekends! Oh, i am still considering Athens with Janice! cos I have to be alone for the weekend.. but we'll see. I think i travel as much as I can before my passport issues disallow me to! ARGH!

God help me. At this point in time, I really really wanna be back home.

And I want the Hor Fun my baby is eating. Argh
